Boys aged 12 and 13 across the UK are to be given the HPV jab in the hope it will prevent tens of thousands more cases of cancer every year.

The vaccine is currently given to girls, largely to protect against the virus that causes cervical cancer, but it’s also known to be effective at stopping several other forms of the disease.
